J&S Audio Visual has been in business for over 35 years! We have a great opportunity for someone who has a college degree, willing to relocate in the United States, interested in technology, and great customer service skills working inside hotels.

Director of Event Technology in Training is responsible for supporting hotel audio visual operations. The position requires that all levels of service and standards of operations are met and exceed in the perception of our clients and customers. This position is a 1 year to 18 months training program to develop new employees to become Directors of Event Technology with J&S Audio Visual. Must be willing to relocate anywhere in the United States.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Prep, set, and strikes audio visual equipment. Keep inventory updated at all times
  • Ability to think through signal flow of audio, video, and lighting systems based on available inventory in order to make sure that outgoing orders are complete in every detail
  • Operates AV equipment with full understanding of signal flow and equipment specifications
  • Determine equipment shortages while preparing equipment order, recommend substitutions
  • Maintains effective communication and feedback with the Director of Audio Visual
  • Follow rigid deadlines
  • Gives support to other departments: involved in the set-up, strike and operation of the events (Show & Rental Services)
  • Projects a professional image, always respecting uniform and appearance based on J&S & Hotel standards
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with Hotel Staff & Clients
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relations with co-workers – encouraging good communication and teamwork attitude
  • Input, adjust, and review orders as needed
  • Protect equipment from damage or theft. Reports damaged equipment to the appropriate personal
  • Maintain clean and safe working areas
  • Any other duties assigned

Minimum requirements

  • Degree or related career in AV Industry is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have High School Diploma
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Able to relocate anywhere within the United States when promoted to Director Level
  • Must have a good clean driving record
